Converting from a frequency reading in Hz to micro-strain
µε = ( F2 / 1000 ) x Gauge-Factor x Batch- Factor
Where: µε = micro-strain
F is a reading in Hz.
Gauge-Factor
Batch-Factor ( if applicable )
Calculating a change (∆) in micro-strain
Change (∆)µε = µε current - µε initial
or
∆µε = ( F2 /1000 current - F2 /1000 initial) x Gauge-Factor x Batch- Factor
Where: µε = micro-strain
∆µε = change in micro-strain
F is a reading in Hz.
Gauge-Factor
Batch-Factor ( if applicable )
To check whether the gauge is in Tension or Compression:
Positive ∆µε indicates tensile strain.
Negative ∆µε indicates compressive strain.
